Erdem Yayınları Ahmed Midhad Efendi Ve Yeryüzünde Bir Melek Rome. Directional Criticism.

Product description

When ahmed midhat efendi started to publish the novel 'an angel on earth' in the tercüman-ı hakikat newspaper, namık kemal and especially ebuzziya tevfik subjected him to a relentless critical storm through this novel.

Ahmet hamdi tanpmar, who claims that ahmed midhat and namık kemal were very close friends at first, but later their relationship completely deteriorated, blames ahmed midhat for betraying namık kemal because he only thought about his own benefit, and moreover, for betraying midhat pasha for the same reason. However, has a friendship as sincere as between namık kemal and ahmed midhat efendi been established, which will eventually deteriorate? Was the deterioration of this friendship, which is considered to exist, due to ahmed midhat's concern for his own interests, as claimed? Was midhat pasha truly the guardian of ahmed midhat efendi? Had ahmed midhat efendi literally betrayed his guardian, midhat pasha?

truth be told, there was no convincing response to this and many other questions similar to this in our literary history.

Therefore, in order to understand the kind of conflicts that took place behind these criticisms, which i believe there is no other example in the world literature in terms of both method and form and content, it was necessary to first pursue all these questions and mainly follow the possible traces of these conflicts in newspapers.

In this work of nuri sağlam, which we think has made a serious contribution to our literary history, he first sheds light on the relationship process of ahmed midhat efendi with namık kemal, ebüzziya tevfik and midhat pasha, and then presents the criticism texts aimed at the novel of an angel on earth with its original pronunciations for the reader's benefit.
