we see the designation of 100 basic works in turkish and world literature by the ministry of national education, first in secondary education and then in primary education, as an effort to increase the reading rate in our country.

100 basic works in primary education as a starting point is promising

if we succeed in making our primary school level children read these works, a significant step will have been taken towards becoming a 'reading society'.

another positive aspect of 100 basic works in primary education is that a society formed by individuals who have read the same works and have realized the richness of language, emotion and thought in those works will be more tolerant and more sharing.
