Doğu Batı Yayınları Fighter Machines - Fighter Planes

Product description

The death of ivan ilyichthe death of ivan ilyich is the most stunning of tolstoy's works, which demonstrates the power of the nabokov discovery to tell the deepest truths in their lean and pure state, without any ornament.

while the judge, ivan ilyich, is making plans for promotion in his profession, he suddenly faces the reality of illness and death.

had he ever thought about death before? No… who is ivan ilyich? What kind of life has it led? In fact, he is one of us who is no different from anyone else.

he has lived a life “as it should be” (comme il faut) since he was a child. A successful career, a happy marriage, and children... everything continues within established patterns.

until the time of death (memento mori) comes… the disease that catches ivan ilyich suddenly changes everything.

A dying man writhing on his deathbed will enter into great showdowns with himself and his surroundings: he has found the comparison “gaius is human, humans are mortal, then gaius is also mortal” true throughout his life, but he only associated this example with gaius, and did not draw an association with himself.

it was gaius, an abstract human being, who was the subject here.

so, this sample was accurate.

meanwhile, ivan ilyich was neither gaius nor abstracted.

he has always been an asset different from everyone else.

his mother was with his father, his brothers mitya and volodya, his toys, his chauffeur and nanny was little vanya, then he was vanya among all the joys, sorrows and excitement of his childhood and early youth.

could gaius know the smell of vanya's very favorite leather ball?
