Doğan Kitap They All Start at the End

Product description

From the 1970s to the 2000s, six heroes tell the story of "it always starts at the end." Stories, life narratives, and loves intertwined in büyükada, istanbul, bern, paris, milan, and london. Which story is the main here, what truth is told by which hero, whose memory belongs to whom, is unknown. Perhaps the best way to live in the past, stop the future, and stay safe is by writing a "life story"?

“taçlı yazıcıoğlu describes the language-depth of each character, their lives-junctions, what they say-cannot say so delicately that the novel begins with love, throws out existential questions while setting the stage for the country's modernization years, and brings us readers to an incredible end. Only a truly original novelist can reveal that, amidst all the twists and turns and missteps of their heroes, they are still fundamentally human beings.

taçlı yazıcıoğlu also does this. "“– onay sözer" "the lives that infiltrate our own lives, the lives we would have 'wished we hadn't turned that corner,' the personalities our traumas have etched deep scars into, the 'past' that never truly leaves us, the ways we protect ourselves and the ways we fail to... i believe these are all rendered with immense depth."

"sevilay çelenk's characters are just as captivating as taçlı yazıcıoğlu's. they tell a familiar story so beautifully that, no matter how different your life has been, you feel like you're a part of that very event... and yes, the author has a razor-sharp style!" It's a style that immediately sets him apart.
