Dipnot Yayınları The Feast of the Hungry

Product description

“i agree with everything, with all the roles i’ve taken on throughout my life.

In the pitch-black deck of la belle poule, the rookie soldier, the actor put on stage during the siege of sevastopol, a veteran in algeria, a comedian and even a jester, the empire's grave digger, the colonel of the commune, the person abandoned to death in the barricades, an injured person without any support, a condemned man, an exiled in kaledonya, the creator of the costumeless theater, the owner of a cheap restaurant, the founder of a stack of newspapers whose publications have ended, the ambassador, the lion tamer, the candidate for parliament, the broker doomed to failure, a faithful spouse and a loving father, all of them. Didier daeninckx says this about maxime lisbonne (1839-1905).

it is clear that the author is fascinated by this personality, the hero of the multi-coloured, commune roadblocks, the theatre man, kneaded with revolutionary countrymen, the shovel prisoner, the colonialist who does not bend in the face of brutality. Maxime lisbonne's life has been a series of heroic failures and glorious successes. A complete adventure novel that touches the reader's heart.
