Destek Yayınları Yesterday's Novel

Product description

Juan emar, who left his mark on 20th century latin literature, brings together a series of unusual events that occurred in one day in his avant-garde novel yesterday. The narrator of yesterday's story, instead of running alone, is performing his travels accompanied by his wife and a few interesting characters.

A painter in love with the color green in all its various shades, a big-bellied man who figures in all the world's stories, a poor soul, the narrator's family who challenge his courage, and the peacock who swallows the lioness and the camel in uruguay's consul, all make an appearance in this colorful parade. Despite not being understood in his time, today juan emar, considered the genius of chilean crazy literature, amazes readers with his fragmented, complex and strange stories. The author, while dispersing in most of everyday life as absurd and surreal, focuses on a small main, enlarges it, reviews the odds, and with his subtle explanations, traces the bifurcated time.

juan emar, well beyond his time, undoubtedly wrote for future readers. Thinking that we, future readers, are those who were born fifteen or twenty years after his death, in a world very different and in many ways worse than the one he knew, is as exciting as it is arrogant.
