Destek Yayınları Keloğlan Leads the Way for Farmers

Product description

“keloğlan guides the farmers” brings together a traditional tale hero with one of today’s most important issues: healthy food, natural production, animal welfare and the relationship of human beings with nature. In this story, keloğlan is a young man with autism who is organized, attentive, has a keen eye for detail, and adheres strictly to his routines. He lives in a small village house with his mother, eve. He produces with traditional methods on his fields, takes care of his animals meticulously, and carefully follows the rhythm of nature. He thinks in numbers, writes his observations in his notebook, and pays attention to every detail. Its distinctiveness lies not in a perceived deficiency within the narrative, but as a powerful attribute that generates solutions, fosters awareness, and drives transformation. When keloğlan's path intersects with başak and her sick sister gül, the story takes a dramatic turn. Keloğlan, investigating the reasons behind gül's incurable illness, notices the fast, incorrect, and unnatural production methods in a large farm. Removing animals from their natural lives, feeding them with chemical additives, and the unhealthy production approach not only harms the animals, but also the people who consume these products.

the keloğlan, with all his courage, voices this truth. Despite initial misunderstandings, gül's health is restored thanks to her knowledge, keen observation, and unwavering determination.

and then opens the way for the big farm to become a natural, healthy and exemplary production center. Thus, the story not only narrates the claim of a hero, but also illustrates that a society can change towards a healthier, more just and harmonious life with nature. "keloğlan" uses a fairy tale approach to teach children about the importance of healthy eating, natural production, animal welfare, and environmentally conscious farming. It also demonstrates how much individuals who think differently, act differently, and view events with a different attention can contribute to society. The author of the book is merve kılıç, the chair of the i̇zev foundation board of directors. "keloğlan guides farmers" is one of the first three books prepared within the framework of the "literature and us" project of the i̇zev foundation, published and made available for distribution by destek çocuk, a subsidiary of destek publishing group, in june 2026.
