Destek Yayınları Devlet Aklı Kimin Aklı?

Product description

This book examines the concept of "State Reason" from a perspective that seeks to understand the fundamental dynamics behind both the state and social structures that have been on the agenda in the history of political and social thought in Turkey since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

Koray Demir analyzes in depth how state reason has been used as a "patriotic litmus test" in the historical process, and to what extent it has been turned into a pragmatic tool to suppress elements that allegedly threaten social integrity.

He states that "State Reason" is often fed by the reflex of power holders to protect their power rather than aiming for the good of the people and the state.

According to Demir, this concept called "State Reason" appears rather as a defense mechanism developed by power centers against their own concerns and fears.

The book discusses how State Reason is legitimized as a constant "survival" argument by those who hold power with its ability to act beyond legal boundaries.

"National and local people, who are put in a dilemma between 'wanting a job to be done correctly, fairly, legitimately, legally' and 'disrupting social integrity', have always chosen to stay away from the accusation of 'disrupting social integrity'.

The communicators of the idea immediately add the word 'survival' next to these ideas and want to prevent 'suspicion' from the ruling power." Product Name: State Mind Whose Mind?
