Dergah Yayınları Mahur Beste

Product description

Mahur Beste is the first novel of Tanpınar's universe built on incompleteness, with a story that leaves its protagonist Behçet Bey in one place and opens into a web of completely different relationships.

It gives signs of the structure of all of Tanpınar's novels with its feature that connects the crises of the years of the dissolution of Ottoman society with layered backgrounds.

In the midst of bureaucratic conflicts that are not far from the mythos of fathers and sons, there is Mahur Beste, composed after a broken love. The fate of the tragic story behind this composition will later haunt the protagonists of his novels Huzur and Sahnenin Dışıdakiler like a ghost... Thus, neither the story of the protagonists will end there, nor the endless dilemmas of the civilization into which they were born... Mahur Beste is finished, like all stories that do not end...
