The stapler is used to bring the papers placed between the staples together, thanks to the stapler wire that curls and holds them at the bottom by passing through the papers due to the mechanical pressure applied to the stapler arm. Due to the pointed ends of the staples, they bend and close at the bottom section under applied mechanical pressure, completing the fastening process. If you use more paper than the stapler can staple at once, the mechanical pressure you will apply will increase, and it is possible that your stapler and papers may be damaged. The history of the staple: according to sources, king louis xv of france is credited with inventing the staple.

louis's name is mentioned.

xv, who ruled france from 1715 to 1774.

louis, a special wire was used to keep court records and official documents together.19. The increase in paper usage in the century led to the development of staples.

on august 7, 1866, the first patent was received for a stapler.

the first stapler similar as today was invented in the 19th century by charles gould.

the first stapler patented by gould in 1868 was used to fasten the pages of magazines together.

the material used for the wire in the stapler developed by gould was passed over the papers and bent at the bottom. In 1877, henry r. hell developed a stapler model where the wire could be passed through the paper and the bottom parts could be crimped in a single motion.

the first stapler operating on this principle was built in 1879 by george w.

mcgill. The staplers used today operate on the same principle.

the punching of paper and the bending of the wire are completed in one stroke.
