Dedalus Kitap Sisler Evi

Product description

"maria luisa bombal, one of the most original authors of latin american literature, has a privileged place in her literature with her novel, the house of fogs, which was published only in english for many years, with its gothic atmosphere, dreamlike narrative, and poetic language. helga, living in a mansion surrounded by fog, finds herself in the shadow of an unrequited love and the ghost of teresa, who appears on the lake shore at night. bombal combines the dark atmosphere of the gothic novel with her poetic language, intertwining the narrative of a crime with supernatural elements. the house of fogs tells the story of a woman facing love, desire, and loneliness in a life entangled with the traces of the past, silences, and passions. when the names of the greatest writers are mentioned in chile, buenos aires, caracas, or lima, maría luisa bombal's name is inevitably mentioned. i consider myself lucky that our paths crossed with her. — jorge luis borges"
