Cumhuriyet Kitapları Religions and Revolutions

Product description

In this book, rıza algül warns us against crude perspectives on religion and revolutions.

With a broad historical and theoretical excursus, the author shows us that religions and revolutions are not only intransigent and conflictive spaces, but that the representativeness of religions, depending on the interests they are charged with, can be counter-revolutionary, as well as revolutionary functions can be charged with examples.

It allows us to have a broad encounter with the hegemony and the examples and reasons why the religiosity of the oppressor and the oppressed and the religiosity of progress can be revealed with its own patterns, the dialectical connection between the material and spiritual sides of people as it is in reality, and it brings a new perspective to the complex relationship between the material and spiritual sides of societies. It allows us to take a more conscious stance against the abuse of polarization that occurs in the public arena, especially against the crude and secular approaches displayed in the name of secularism and marxism.
