Product description

A female painter who returns from Germany and settles with her husband and two young daughters in an apartment in one of Istanbul's garden neighborhoods finds herself in a city that has changed more than she ever imagined.

As her plans for a quiet home life soon take on an air of tension ready to explode, it becomes clear that there are deeper cracks in the communal life in the apartment than those visible.

'She couldn't think.

What horrible death was that? He tried to banish the thought from his mind

he imagined Yasemin's motionless body lying on the floor, someone holding a saw to her neck

'God help me!' he said

He continued, trying to control his voice, knowing that his anger had not subsided, that he was still under the influence of the trembling, the wave of shame and shock that enveloped his whole body

he seemed to be under the compulsion of a force contrary to him that even he could not recognize, that he could not fully know: 'Get out of our hair! Are we going to learn environmentalism from you?"'Filiz Elasu wrote an impressive women's novel against the backdrop of a casino in a seaside town in her first novel Oyun (2012).

This time, she invites us to confront with a novel that sheds light on the dark sides of city life, has a gripping language, and combines fantasy with the naked truth.

'We all live in an apartment building.

We all work.

None of us want to harm a tree.

None of us want to be wronged.

No one was there when it happened.

No one committed the murder.

Are you ready to face it?
