Product description

Antique keeper by yuri dombrovski, 20

Is one of the turning points of russian literature of the century

The novel has a calm plot: in the mid-1930 s, a young archaeologist comes to work in the capital of kazakhstan, alma ata, from the church to the dissident city museum

He struggles with bureaucracy on the one hand and treasure hunters on the other

A free boa snake, seen out of town, also gets involved

In the years when hitlerian fascism rises, the air of stalin despotism, which rules life in the soviet union, spreads over the lands, the fathers of the apple

Yuri dombrovski (1909 1978), repeatedly arrested and sent to labor camps during the soviet period, lived in exile in kazakhstan for many years, unable to return to moscow

With his clear, calm literary language, his works were able to give the uncanny surrealism of ordinary life

In 1978, he died of heavy internal bleeding two months after being beaten in the moscow house of writers

A writer who will be of interest to those who love bulgakov, platonov, read borges, karasu, know kafka, dostoevsky

We are publishing this contemporary classic along with a work by the author igor duwardovich, editor-in-chief of the magazine voprosi literaturi, about the era in which he wrote the biography of the author

"as they say, ""the author wrote this novel with his own blood""... a novel that goes down to the bottom of our miserable lives
