CAN The Devil in the Hills

Product description

The devil on the hills is a novel set in rural areas where pavese, undoubtedly one of the greatest writers of italian literature, spent his youth, and which also carries traces of the author's own experiences. When three young college students, who have realized that they have perhaps spent the most carefree and fun summer of their lives, meet poli, a wealthy, adventurous and fun lover, they step into a completely different world. Poly's life, built on moral fanaticism and borderless selfishness, her corrupted world, different friends and relationships, enchant these three young people who are in the transition period of their lives.

however, like any season, it will expire in the summer.

cesare pavese underlines that innocence is not a lost concept, but one that can be perceived differently under different circumstances.

in the dreamy atmosphere of the rural areas, villages and towns of northern italy, he confronts the reader with the fact that every person is open to destruction, every principle is prone to distortion, and every landscape is prone to lose its meaning.
