CAN Salondaki Kişiler

Product description

They were sitting in the living room

one was a bit away from the other two.

that detail has always been that way since then.

every time i saw them, two of the three women would always sit together, and the third would stand a little distance away. It all begins one evening, in the salon of a house opposite, when a seventeen-year-old girl sees "three slender, dreamy shadows" – and lightning strikes. Later, the girl becomes curious and starts watching these women, making up various lives for them

sometimes she thinks they are accomplices in a mysterious crime, sometimes they are prone to suicide, problematic housewives.

in this hallucinatory atmosphere, where it is impossible to determine what is real and what is imaginary, it is inevitable that the observation becomes a perversion. Long's imagination, desire, domestic space, observation, and the unique exploration of female loneliness make it one of the masterpieces of the 20th century. Lange's prose, which combines painterly qualities with poetic images, is full of richness.
