CAN Şahbaz’ın Harikulade Yılı 1979

Product description

Everything starts with losing time.

then the actual disappears. Then you disappear... time, reality, and when you disappear, the disappearance situation disappears.

and it all starts over again.

did you hear the noises last night? They brought a woman up. Her name is zehra.

it looks like you.

were your hair also long once? Your eyes are black? Are your wrists thin? Did you lose your brother too? Did your mother go crazy too? Do you think they would think he died like you and throw him here, then forget his body? Are you scared? Narrator shahbaz, maybe a real maybe a supernatural entity. Right before the september 12th incident, he is trying to keep alive a woman who has been tortured in a basement throughout 1979. He keeps telling stories to him, reminiscent of the thousand and one nights. As in mine söğüt's other works, it is not quite clear how much of the told tales are imaginary and how much are real, or even too real. In 1979, mine söğüt şahbaz's wonderful year once again invites readers to come into contact with the real, purified flame, bravely turning pages from the country's perhaps darkest period.

but he also draws attention to the different layers of this reality, bringing together the human untamedness without measure with the blessings of nature, existence. To be by the side of life despite everything...
