CAN Previous Island of the Day

Product description

The story of roberto de la grive, who survived a sinking ship and "made it to shore" on another vessel, reminiscent of the previous day's island. This story, set in the seventeenth century, reaches the present day with letters roberto wrote to the woman he loved and the notes he kept on the ship. Throughout roberto's days on the deserted island, his memories of his old life re-establish the political, romantic, scientific, and social life of an era, evaluating history, society, and human relationships. The story, shaped by a three-stage narrative pyramid (author/ narrator commenting on roberto/ roberto's letters), gains tension with the presence of an intruder who constantly escapes from roberto, leaving mysterious traces, while on the other hand, it can reach historical moments and places firsthand and creates reciprocal perspectives between the seventeenth and twentieth centuries through the narrator channel.
