Billy fell asleep as a widower and woke up on the wedding day.

it went through one door in 1955 and came out another in 1941. He went through that door again and found himself in 1963. He says he has seen his own birth and death many times, and that he has made random trips to all the events in between.

Billy pilgrim is ripped out of the flow of time.

now he can fast forward and rewind his life as he pleases. He can be transported either to the day when aliens from the planet tralfamadore missed him, or to the day when he was held as a prisoner of war and his allied planes bombed dresden. Billy's fragmented life always makes us think about the meaning we are looking for in our own lives. Mezbaha beş is a modern classic – vonnegut's masterpiece.
