CAN Maybe Summer Comes Early

Product description

You are at the bookstore.

you wind between the shelves.

a book catches his attention.

there is a woman on the cover.

on the beach.

it holds a giant life preserver.

the sea is slightly choppy.

you can't tell where the woman came from or where she is going.

childhood comes to mind. Childhood, a broken memory book.

just as i was about to look at the back cover, someone walks in from the bookstore.

it's distracting. The fairy tales your mother tells and your father's laughter are melting away. Childhood leaves you, you grow up. The back cover text says stories, short stories, fairy tales. "you wonder for a moment, ""i wish it was a novel."

then you remember that life is the sum of stories.

what you call life is waiting for all those letters, syllables, words to meet.

what you call life is an endless wait.

the author's name is being deleted from the cover.

you see your own name there, all those stories are yours now. The book just starts singing its song with a melody that you will hear: i am a storybook.

waiting for his reader with a smile inside.
