CAN Frankenstein

Product description

"All my predictions and hopes proved false, and I was chained to hell for eternity like an angel emulating God

my imagination was vivid, my powers of analysis and execution strong

it was the combination of these qualities that enabled me to develop and realize the idea of creating a human being.Even now I recall with excitement the feelings I had when I completed my work

I walked through the gardens of paradise in my imagination, both in the ecstasy of my power and in contemplation of its possible consequences

I had been imbued with great hopes and ambitions since childhood, and now look how I have fallen!" These words, uttered by Victor Frankenstein, a young student with a passion for science, upon seeing his creation, have been interpreted as a reflection of God's disappointment at abandoning his own children

Frankenstein's monster, condemned to isolation and alienation, represented the fate of modern man, left alone in this world by the creator who gave life to dead nature.Shelley's Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, imagines the horrific cultural consequences of the Enlightenment passions of 18th-century Europe

the Enlightenment desire to use science to "penetrate the secrets of nature" while turning everything, including human nature and the body, into objects, leads Frankenstein on an adventure that ends in regret: Frankenstein's monster is actually the monster of the mind itself, and now not only this monster, but also the mind that created it must be feared. 20 contemporary photographers from Turkey have prepared the cover photographs of 20 books with their original interpretations for this special series of Can Classics.
