Can Çocuk Yayınları The Iliad

Product description

The two great epics of ancient greek literature, the iliad and the odyssey, are among the fundamental sources of western literature. These works, which are products of the oral literature tradition, are believed to belong to the poet homer. in the 16 thousand line iliad, the battle between the trojans on the anatolian side and the achaeans from the greek peninsula is described. But this epic is not only the story of the trojan war that lasted for years, but also the questioning of the heroism ideal with all its contradictions. In ilyada and odysseia, real life and mythology are intertwined, the world of gods and the world of humans are in a natural unity. People, designated by gods, experience the endless conflict between mortality and immortality. In the 6th century, these two epics, which were later passed on to writing, created heroes that would later borrow and use as a whole western literary tradition. We present the iliad and the odyssey epics, products of the labor, knowledge, and patience of azra erhat, who translated them from the original greek texts written in the old greek language, along with kadir's masterful translations.
