Cook foods to be mashed—such as potatoes, carrots, zucchini, or chickpeas—until they are soft. Transfer the softened food to a deep, sturdy bowl. Grip the masher firmly by the handle and place the 9-cm-wide mashing tip horizontally on top of the food. Press down in a controlled motion from top to bottom. Repeat the pressing process at different points until the desired puree consistency is achieved. For a smoother result, continue mashing while stirring the food occasionally. Immediately after use, rinse off any food residue from the product with water. Clean it with warm water, dish soap, and a soft sponge, then dry it thoroughly. Store it in a dry place using the hanging loop on the handle.
