“while i was moving on the land route to bursa, i noticed a brown sign showing the road to i̇znik.
because the other road signs were blue.
also, 'nikea' was written under the inscription of the virgin.
i asked my father why this happened.
He also told me that the place we will go, where the road signs of places of historical importance are made with this color and their first names in history are written on this sign, has great importance for both christians and muslims in terms of historical artifacts.
he also said that i̇znik is a historical legacy that should be preserved as a 'sit' area and should be left to the people after us. My parents had arranged this trip for me as a birthday gift and insisted that i see i̇znik.
they were right.
you will read the historical and cultural traces in iznik, where the romans, byzantines, anatolian seljuk and ottoman state were dominant, with an intriguing fiction and a gripping narrative.
