Product description
Let love be child: the bookstores of the photo novel of the sea travelled! The love let children graphic novel, which tells the story of deniz gezmiş, one of the revolutionary youth leaders of the 68 generation, was published as a book by boyut publishing house. "love let it be child, written by ali cabbar and described as a ""political novel"", tells the life and struggle of gezmiş by associating it with the important events of that period, allowing us to better understand turkey." The book began to be written on the 50th anniversary of the death of the past and was published online in weekly instalments. Deniz gezmiş was arrested after the military coup of march 12, 1971, and was executed on may 6, 1972, together with two close friends, yusuf aslan and hüseyin i̇nan. During that time, many young and prominent people were killed, tortured and thrown into prison. The details of this dark period in the book and the events on the way to that point offer a thought-provoking perspective on how we should look at turkish history, especially on the eve of a very important choice waiting for the country. The author wants the reader to discover the relationships between events without making too many comments. But let love be a child is not a “neutral” book! In addition to the sea traveler, it respectfully commemorates all the revolutionary youth and important names of the turkish left, reminding us of the hardships they have endured. The photo novel tells the short life of deniz gezmiş, covering each year from his birth in 1947 to his execution in 1972, in separate chapters. Some pages are as gripping as a history book, some pages are sad enough to bring tears to your eyes! "shaped by the influence of ali cabbar's visual artist, ""let it be love child"" stands out as one of the first examples of its kind in terms of form." The speech bubbles used by the author in some frames give fluidity to the life story. "the way the visuals are processed reflects the ""pop"" aesthetic spirit of the 1960s, adding a ""artist's book"" feature to the publication." It is noteworthy that the cover image refers to andy warhol's silk screen portraits. And the fact that it was published online in a format suitable for mobile phones before being printed and followed by thousands of readers puts the book in a special category in terms of publishing experience. For the book ali cabbar says: “deniz gezgins and his friends chose their places in the ranks of anti-imperialism patriots, anti-capitalism socialists, anti-fascism democracy. Despite the passage of 50 years since their death, they continue to affect a huge audience even today. The large portrait of the sea hung on the front of the akm during the protest in taksim square is proof of this. I wrote love let there be child to tell about the political and social conditions under which these wonderful young people were shaped.” (from the promotional bulletin)
