Bilgin Kültür Sanat Yayınları Turkish Perceptions of French Travelers

Product description

The person who desires to experience the experience of relocation and discovery of new horizons throughout history does not limit himself to geographical experiences, turning his journey into an adventure with cultural, social and political dimensions. In this context, travel becomes an experience that not only explores the outside world, but also opens up to the inner world of a person. It is known that the travelogues of western travelers played a significant role in shaping the orientalist thought system. The series of travelogues, which create a dialogue between different eras and historical periods, create an epistemic process. Within this framework, travelogues become objects of study, not just a written genre, but also a hidden witness to history.
