Isbn: 9786059521161 Author: aydın parmaksız Are fairy tales, often told to entertain a child or as part of a bedtime ritual, just a means of entertainment or can they hold a deeper meaning for the child? Although not very noticeable by adults, sometimes the negative emotions felt towards the mother, sometimes the father, and sometimes the siblings make the child's life unbearable at times.

the child can neither fully understand nor describe these feelings. Sometimes, traces of these emotions can be seen in the naive phrases of a character in the game he plays, and sometimes in the picture frames crudely drawn by him. Fairy tales tell the child that these difficult days will pass, just like the cinderella he just listened to in the fairy tale, like the snow white, he will have a happy ending very soon

it gives hope for the future.

Freud's tales for me explores questions such as whether violent elements encountered in fairy tales should be read to a child, whether there is a special meaning to a child's constant desire to listen to the same fairy tale, and which fairy tales should be read to children of which age group, based on the psychoanalytic dynamics of fairy tales.

From the other hand, the views developed by the pioneer writer vladimir propp, who is connected with the group called russian formers in literary theory, on the formal features of fairy tales are also considered, and the orientation of fairy tales to edipal and pre-edipal topics and whether they can be classified in this sense are also evaluated. This innovative study, which appeals to parents wondering about the effects of fairy tales on their children, literature scholars interested in the genre, and experts in child development, is expected to make a significant contribution to the literature.
