Product description
In 1945, when the atomic bomb was dropped on nagazaki, japan, mieko's town was destroyed.
she and her family are lucky to survive, but mieko is badly injured in the hand. "this is a nightmare for a girl who loves to draw like her... now she can't even hold a brush with her injured hand... her teacher once told mieko that ""the beauty in her heart"" is her ""fifth treasure""."
and now mieko thinks she has lost this treasure forever. When mieko's family sends her to her grandparents' house, she has to go to another school there. When friends tease him with his hand, his sadness increases a notch, but he doesn't lose his courage.
mieko will learn by living that time and patience are the cure for everything, and can even make him rediscover his fifth treasure.
sadako sasaki...
one of the thousands of little girls from hiroshima.
two years old in 1945.
not injured, not sick.
it's nice that he's going to school.
it's been years.
sadako has seen that the city is getting better every day, new buildings are being built.
he got sick all at once when he was twelve.
it was an incurable disease caused by radiation in the body. Doctors, experts have examined, they understood that there is no salvation.
sadako in twelve will die!..
he knows this too! But according to japanese tradition, the wish of a person who makes a crane out of paper will definitely come true.
her circle gives this belief to sadako to stall. He receives letters about this. Sadako begins making paper kites from her hospital bed. I tried very hard, but i couldn't do those birds. You fold it once, twice, three times, you curl it, and suddenly a crane appears.
