Ayrıntı Yayınları Work Thought

Product description

The phrase "hiding in plain sight" implies that the things and situations we encounter constantly, the ones we're familiar with and always have our eyes on, are unlikely to catch our attention and, therefore, remain "invisible" to us. The "work" action is just like those actions we witness every moment, but due to constant familiarity, it doesn't attract much attention.

the study has a history as far back as the history of mankind. However, in modern industrial societies, our understanding of work as social beings is limited to the work concept defined by the mainstream economic teaching as "employment." In this regard, it is quite common to see a very broad range of actions outside of the working definition, excluding actions performed for a fee in labor markets. However, john w. budd, in his work "working thought," broadens our understanding of work to an extremely wide scope, moving us beyond this narrow conception of work.

Budd, in this book, uses ten different but certainly not unrelated conceptualizations of work to show how the act of work, which we encounter every moment in our daily lives, can have a wide and profound meaning, and that work is a concept that deserves much thought. Therefore, this book not only demonstrates that work is much more than "employment" in labor markets, but also reveals that it carries a meaning beyond mere intellectual effort.

because depending on our location, for example, the working concept we have as a labor court judge or mayor, will also directly affect the decisions we will make and will be the concrete reflection of this.
