Ayrıntı Yayınları Watt

Product description

Watt is the second “novel” written by samuel beckett, one of the few writers who have left their mark on the century. although it was written during the second world war and beckett actively participated in the french resistance movement, it does not contain anything related to the war. So what's this novel about? With nothing. There is no plot (no events anyway)

if you say characters, there are as many characters as you can count watt or mr. knott, that is, right

if you are looking for bright sentences, joyce-like stylistic disputes, we are sorry: namevcut. "the readers of iconoclast should also be warned in advance: in the last sentence, beckett says, ""let those who seek symbolic meaning in what i write be left behind"", be careful." So what? There's a guy called watt, he doesn't even know how to laugh, he walks like silent cinema comics, he speaks in a weird way

In a strange need for “semantic certainty”, giving everything and itself a name

He needs to review all possible forms of execution of the most ordinary tasks (the promise of giving a dog food) and re-establish it in the most suitable way in his mind. (the text is full of such, which may seem to some people insidious, and to others very entertaining, forty-nine witg hair reasoning). Watt enters the house as a housekeeper for someone named mr. knott, stays there for a while, and then leaves. The “incident” consisted of that. From time to time, several grotesque people enter and exit the text. That's all. What else is there? "a formidable black humor like no other

the brutal display of what is called ""nobility of the human species"", especially the stupidity of the human mind, we think it also has a language that incredibly combines being extraordinarily simple and complex." "a book that ""hurts while laughing""." Indispensable for those who take their eyes on reading “difficult” texts...
