Isbn: 9786053140849 Author: julian barnes Publisher: detail publications Language: turkish Binding: paperback "summary: the composer named leonard verity, the protagonist of the story ""the sound mixture"" in the first story book ""beyond the margin"", and the finnish musician jean sibelius, the protagonist of the story ""silence"" in the next story compilation ""lemon table"", can be considered as a sign that julian barnes has given a prominent place to ""the problem of artistry"" in his musical works." The main thread of all these works is the artist's question of what prices he pays for his art in life, whether the same works can be given by choosing a different way of life, and whether the judgment of the future means anything real for the artist. This time julian barnes comes to us with a narrative about the stormy life and art of the famous russian composer dimitri shostakovich: in his novel the noise of time, he examines the life and art of shostakovich, whose innovative works were violently attacked by the repressive cender of the soviet russian era regime, whose artistic understanding was deeply defended against ideological narrow-mindedness, and whose life was marked by intense internal questioning, as evidenced by the echoes awakened by his fifth symphony, which he had to enter into seemingly “compromises” with the regime from time to time. "barnes builds the text on a ""triple"" division, creating the three main figures of the narrative by establishing a ""triple"" structure again (""listening"", ""reminiscing"" and ""drinking"") in ""the field"", ""on the plane"" and ""in the car""." The text, woven with russian proverbs used as leitmotifs, the composer's obsession with the “new year”, the understanding of fate, which can be both a farce and a tragedy, the mother and the women who entered his life, the anecdotes of various matrak musicians, the image of the “great leader” stalin, who constantly called him to the “right” path of folk art and many more striking elements, offers the reader a unique taste of reading. Let us ask ourselves once again, if dimitri shostakovich's perversion is so, is it really, “is art the whisper of history heard over the noise of time? If it is, what is the "removable against the noise of time?"
