Ayrıntı Yayınları Take a Break.

Product description

From tom robbins, the author of "the perfume dance," a cult classic that quickly built its own devoted following, comes another insightful novel: stop and take a break. In this novel, the author attributes a person's inability to be happy to their detachment from nature and the acquisition of "unnatural" tensions such as the desire to win, the fear of losing, and the fear of death. And he blames modern civilization, which prioritizes economy over health, love, truth, beauty, and sex, for all of this.

he states that the politicians, soldiers and religious figures who maintain the system with orders, censorship, rewards and punishments are afraid of nature, therefore of life. The role of religion in our exposure to a life aiming for "stability" instead of a free and joyful life is being questioned.

it emphasizes that the most stable societies are police states, nature and life are not stable, stability is not natural, and religion tries to ensure stability with the reward of heaven and the punishment of hell. Amanda, with her gypsy spirit, and drummer and sculptor ziller decide to live a different life. They open a rest facility where all kinds of people stop by the roadside to take a break, where sausages and vegetable/fruit juice are sold, where fleas in ballet costumes perform, and where poisonous and non-poisonous snakes are displayed. Amanda, a vibrant and sensual woman who believes that "the fear of death is the beginning of servitude," and that "style" is the essence of life, blends into mushrooms, insects, and flowers, embodying the "fruit of the devil." The cymbals, which make all their journeys towards the source, and connect the rhythm in creation with the rhythm in music, wander around wild, semi-naked, and silently. They live remembering the pagan world and indian, tibetan, african cultures, which are much older than historical western culture.

for those who are looking for a life beyond winning and losing.
