Product description

Hubert Selby Jr., author of the cult book Last Exit to Brooklyn, once again takes us into the lives of the underground people of his world: the lost, the seduced, the unscrupulous, the ruthless

humanizing the inhuman with his great love, forgiveness and compassion.Sara Goldfarb, a widow living alone in Coney Island, a poor neighborhood in Brooklyn, dreams of losing weight and landing on a TV show

her junkie son Harry is running a drug ring with his girlfriend Marion and his buddy Tyrone to make a quick buck. For a quartet ecstatic with the prospect of a bright future, their momentary setbacks are just temporary road accidents.

As things go from bad to worse, they sink deeper and deeper into the pit of horror that their addictions have created, instead of accepting that they have in fact created their own ominous nightmare.

Requiem for a Dream, which was also made into a movie and has a huge fan base, is a book about love.

More precisely, about what happens to love and lovers when things go wrong.

As the words burn through the pages, you will realize that you have always chosen to live a dream instead of living what life brings, and you will never, ever forget this reading experience.
