summary: the first miracle: georges perec wrote a novel without using the most used vowel in french, “e”: la disparition. The second miracle: cemal yardımcı adapted this novel into turkish without using the letter “e”: the disappearance. The loss has been received as a dry account, since its first publication in 1969, the constraint inevitably impoverishes ever! The language games, associations, a literate masterpiece with its fiction that makes the subject the protagonist

it was accepted as a novel to be read in one breath with its unrestrained imagination and sense of unforgivable humor. The author, who lived through the second world war as a child who witnessed the loss of his mother and father, reflects the emptiness that left its mark on his life by eliminating a letter in this extraordinary novel. But as he always does, he wraps his sadness in enthusiastic humor, making the painful ridiculous, the meaningless fictional, and games out of his troubles, exposing this emptiness. This paradoxical approach has permeated the novel throughout. This work is a literary play that those who are partial to a certain perspective will enjoy. In another way it is a nice fantastic conspiracy story. It is kind of a “pro- versus” novel in a way.
