In the exception novel, which remained at the top of the danish bestseller list for a full eighteen months, translated into more than twenty languages and valued by numerous awards, christian jungersen blends the internal dark drives that lead a person to commit a crime and the external dynamics that bring them to the surface. The lives of four women working at a genocide research center in copenhagen are completely changed when two of them receive death threats.

women first suspect that they are being watched by a serbian war criminal named mirko zigic, whom they wrote about in their writings to the genocide center broadcasts.

but as events unfold, the tension that was already high among the women will gradually climb in this atmosphere of life and death, each beginning to suspect the other. Now the workplace has turned into a battlefield, and in this chaotic environment, every woman has turned into a vigilante. In exception, a brutal criticism of everyday life where individuality and selfishness are intertwined, jungersen provides an extraordinary account and brings the reader to experience the cold atmosphere caused by tension in human relationships, a perfect psychological thriller novel.
