&quot

To be noble, a person must have dreams for a long time, and dreams are nourished in the depths of the night. &quot

Jean genet, in this novel, focuses on human relationships in paris during the war and occupation period, arguing for a universal state of humanity. People, just like in love, also exceed the limits of politics, idealism, and ethics in war

in other words, everything is permissible in love and war.

Here is a fantastic yet serious novel that describes the similarities and differences between people, the governments that send them to death, and the personal conflicts that are attempted to be resolved in the war fields, in those days when everything is experienced at its extreme points.

In this novel, jean genet himself is the narrator. There is jean, the lover who died in a street battle while resisting the german occupation. The german collaborator of the lover has a brother who is also hitler's lover

There is jean's mother who hides a german officer in her house, and in fact, genet's middle class is a groundbreaker. In this book, love is found in all its beauty and ugliness, in all its nakedness and intensity, and betrayal is present.

&quot

The crimes a people are ashamed of shape their true history.

the same is true for humans &quot

Jean genet, who said, has always been a good refuge in the face of death and uncertainty, uses humor abundantly, telling what happens to people in war and love.
