Ayrıntı Yayınları Akışkan Korku Zygmunt Bauman Book 224 Pages Ayrıntı Yayınları

Product description

“this book is an inventory of fluid modern horrors (quite primitive, incomplete). Additionally, it is a quest to find ways to overcome the common resources and obstacles that hinder their discovery and to render them harmless or harmless (very primitive, rich in questions rather than answers).

in other words, this book is not a prescription book, but an invitation to think about moving and to act thoughtfully.

Its sole purpose is to warn us of the horror of the task we are sure to face in much of this century (wittingly or not, willingly or not) so that humanity can bring the century to its end and emerge at its end feeling safer and more confident than it did at its beginning.

” modernity was a promise to get rid of the fears that had virtually invaded social life throughout history.

the modern individual tended to believe that he had taken control of his life and overcome the fears and uncertainties of the past.

however, it was not at all what was expected.

from environmental disasters to attacks, natural disasters to epidemics, dozens of types of fear have surrounded our world.

the modern person of today is stuck in a climate of anxiety generated by dangers that he does not know where and when they will come from.

bauman suggests that fear is the name we give to our uncertainty, distrust, insecurity in the face of the dangers that symbolize the fluid modern age.

it allows us to face difficulties in discovering the causes of fears and to be able to think about our ability to get rid of them.
