Product details
Product description
The common features of the fantasized amazons of ancient times and the real amazons of dahomey were quite numerous.
both of them, girls were learning to fight, to hold weapons from an early age, to be strong, fast and resilient, and to cope with pain.
hunting, dancing, and instrumental music were just some of the talents these girls
their main purpose in life was to fight.
they longed for fighting, rushed to the battle with blood-chilling screams, enjoyed fighting, and fought with anger and guts. It was obvious that they had gained immunity from fear.
and they were ruthless when they won the victory.
they were giving the neighbors a scare.
men saw them as their respected and relentless enemies. The meticulous archival research prepared, african amazons, carries the feature of being the most comprehensive and reliable study written about women in world war history. Stanley b.'s unique research sheds light on the places of these formidable female warriors who fought against slavery in the colonial history of alpern. The female warriors of dahomey, the embodiment of amazons who cannot go beyond a mitten, are breaking the tradition of male domination in africa, one of the continents of the dominant male world.
In this comprehensive study, the history of the dahomey amazons is revealed from the origins of the state to the defeat of france in 1892: visual and written documents are presented about what women ate, how they were recruited, how they were trained, and what they did during the periods without war. An alternative, striking and mind-opening history book to the dominant male history narrative.
