Ayrıkotu The Stories That Killed Me

Product description

What does a person really tell about his life, when he starts to tell it: what he remembers, what he forgot, or what he killed? The stories that kill me consist of stories that wander around the limits of remembering and telling.

crimes committed in the shadow of fathers and sons, lives left unfinished, and pasts to be rebuilt are intertwined in these texts.

the narrative here becomes not only a testimony, but also an inevitable reckoning.

Scattered notes taken in the middle of the night in a clinic room, a fragile life that begins with another name after a murder, a young man trying to emerge from the war and reach another shore in a dark sea, and whispers that do not stop even years after the walls of their childhood homes. Ozan ömer akgül leaves the reader with the following question while wandering the misty shores of memory in these stories: does a story truly end when it is told, or does it start right then and there? When i wrote it, reality changed.

here's the day i got it: everything you write is killing someone.

either you or someone else.
