Product description

Andrey bitov, one of the most important names in postmodern russian literature, created a literary masterpiece in this travel diary, which was first published in russian in 1969 as lectures in armenia: a journey to a country that is not quite small. he conveyed the ten days he spent in soviet armenia in september 1967 in an innovative style. Curiously, although he had nothing to do with journalism, bitov was sent to yerevan by a newspaper to conduct an interview on contemporary urban planning in armenia, more than fulfilling the task set, the close friend author hrant matevosyan, together with matevosyan's family and their pals, enjoyed the nature, history, language, food, culture and, above all, the people of armenia

Realizing that the country he did not know would be like a school for him, bitov, in an unprecedented style in travel notes, constructed his work under the headings of “lessons”

In the book you can also find the last interview with this great contemporary russian writer, an essay on his literature and personality, and the preface signed by the translator sabri gürses, which gives a comprehensive look at both the writer and this work
