Samples of armenian literature 1913 product name: samples of armenian literature 1913 publisher: aras publishing house stock code: 9786055753276 number of pages: 375 size: 13x20 publication date: 2012-05 cover type: paperback paper type: 2. The pulp of armenian literaturethe samples contain fourteen stories from eight famous armenian writers. Sarkis srents, who compiled the stories and transferred them from armenian to ottoman, publishes the samples in 1913, adding the articles he received from four famous ottoman intellectuals-abdullah cevdet, harutyun shahrigyan, süleyman nazif and şahabettin süleyman. The book, which presents vivid examples from the armenian literature of the period, fills a great void in the environment in which it was published. However, 99 years later, today, the samples, meeting the reader in bilinguality, appear before us not as a vivid reflection of the 'existing', 'living', but as a dim reflection of the 'non-existent', 'no longer living': the ottoman language has disappeared. There is no production of armenian literature in turkey, and the western armenian language, the language in which most of the stories in the book were written, has been forgotten. And for these very reasons, the book is called “samples of armenian literature-1913”, and not “samples of armenian literature”. In his article written for the armenian literature samples, abdullah cevdet, one of the prominent intellectuals of the period, has almost predicted this gap that has been gradually growing for 99 years: "literaries, poets are the soul of a nation, what remains of that nation after these are removed from it?" If you take away the ability to feel and communicate, what else is there to a person but flesh? What happens in the universe if the sun is destroyed by nature?
