Alfa Yayınları The Absence of Structure: an Expository Review and Structural Method + Colored Highlighter

Product description

Umberto eco, whose studies on semiotics began in the 1960s, found that a theory of indicators was needed to study cultural phenomena in his studies on mass culture, and he pioneered the first formulation of such a theory in his book "the structure of sentences."

Two thinkers behind the twentieth century science of manifestation

Eco, detailing the thought of the american pragmatic philosopher charles sanders peirce and the swiss linguist ferdinand de saussure, offers an overview of the fundamental concepts of semiotics: signifier, code, message, sender and sent. "la nécessité de la non-structure" is a work that stems from the ontological structuralist debate between claude levi-strauss and jacques lacan. it places significant emphasis on the temporary and historical nature of sign systems.

In the absence of structure by umberto eco, the current research in the field of linguistics, the state of structuralism, the subjects of interest to semiotics are examined from a broad and holistic perspective, and his own theoretical views are presented along with the views put forward in this field to date.
