Product description

Alfa publications, mehmet fuad köprülü külliyat 3, mehmet fuad köprülü, 9786051068213.

Until fuad köprülü wrote this work, the views of the most prominent byzantine specialists and historians of the period and before, the structure of the ottoman foundations, that they were taken from the byzantine empire and culture after the conquest of istanbul, were generally accepted by all those interested in this issue without much discussion.

After its publication, this work, which also made a great impact among european historians, examines the fundamental institutions and elements of the ottoman bureaucracy, such as the beylik, kadıaskerlik, defterdarlık, kaptanpaşalık, tax, janitorial and military systems, and even the tradesmanship, one by one, based on a solid historical method, and shows that the ottoman institutions were not imitations of the byzantine institutions, but developed within their own tradition.
