Alfa Yayınları Kopernik: Göklerin Devrimcisi + Color Highlighter Pen

Product description

In the spring of 1500, at the height of the renaissance, under the papacy of julius ii. A papal secretary in the service of alexander borgia wrote, "the world of sentences is in rome." Even though no one knew at the time, a young scholar named nikola copernicus, who would one day change the world, was also there.

Copernicus, arguably the greatest linguist, lawyer, doctor, diplomat, politician, mathematician, scientist, astronomer, artist, and religious figure of his time, and perhaps the most significant scientific discovery of the modern era, revealed to the world that the earth and the planets revolve around the sun, and that the earth rotates on its axis, completing one revolution in 24 hours. His heliocentric theory and the discoveries that followed it heralded the modern era of astronomy, often referred to as the copernican revolution, and forever changed our understanding of the universe. This ingenious perspective, born from the fusion of the vast knowledge of antiquity with the intellectual landscape of medieval islamic scholarship, was immortalized in the epic de revolutionibus orbium celestium. Freely skillfully weaves kopernik's exciting life with kopernik's theories. A valuable book that highlights the role of islamic astronomy in the emergence of the sun-centered model.
