Product description

Ayyaş is considered to be one of hans fallada's most personal and shocking works, where the author's complex life intertwines with the story. In fallada, this novel was written in 1944, during the three and a half months he was confined to a psychiatric hospital for attempting to kill his ex-wife.

the novel, which was published in 1947 after the death of the writer, has become one of the immortal works of german literature. The writing possesses a quality of resistance action, both physically and contentwise: this text, written in a coded technique in prison, reflects fallada's internal storms, personal crises, and rebellion against the ruthless judgments of the society. Ayyaş is not just the story of an alcoholic, but it also delves deeply into the human struggle to come to terms with one's own existence, the loneliness of an individual oppressed by society's pressures, and the frailties of the human condition. Through the character of sommer, the author reflects on the painful experiences of his own life, revealing the dark aspects of life in all its nakedness, proving that even in moments of despair, poetry can carry a profound depth. This dark yet captivating story, woven with the pain of fallada herself, calls out to those seeking meaning in the complex shadows of existence. it illustrates how personal experiences can transform into a universal web.
