The compendium in your hands wants to present a brief history of classicism and modernism and their sources, thanks to the study of twenty-two leading buildings.

Each of the reviews teaches the substance of the building, the way it is placed in the parcel, its interiority, its light, its construction, its materials, its design, with texts that guide it or bring it face to face with theories. This continues until the building in question ceases to be an object and gradually becomes a project again, a bundle of open hypotheses for the “possibilities” of its own era. Can architecture history be included in other ways by following the path from object to project? The reviews that make up the work in your hands are attempting something like this: 22 separate building monographs are assembled according to their functions, and each building presents its own tikel program and the conjuncture that enables its emergence

So that the building description of the era is not expected to move from the building to the era.
