Albaraka Yayınları Mental Functions in Non-Advanced Societies

Product description

In "mental functions in savage societies," written by lucien-lévy bruhl, one of the founders of french anthropology and a pioneer of the concept of "primitive mentality," the author first focuses on the law of participation and the fact that the mind of principles is not susceptible to contradiction. The core of the work explores what exactly the guiding principles of primitive thinking are, and how they persist within institutions and practices. The sequel to the series, "primitive mindset," delves deeper into causality for those who are more fundamentalist, showcasing the implications of their beliefs and how they view the world. In these two complementary works, the author endeavors to delve into the thought processes and principles of action of these societies, which we might crudely term "primitive," but which are both incredibly distant and strikingly close to us.
