this work aims to contribute to the recently intensifying ottoman institution studies. For this purpose, the lives of the sons of ottoman rulers, from their birth to their deaths or until they ascended to the throne, have been examined considering the institutional structure of the state. When it comes to the prince, the first thing that comes to the minds of some orientalists (eastern scientists) and turkish historians is the rebellions that brothers launched against each other or against their ruling fathers in order to seize the throne. However, it should not be overlooked that they were one of the most important practitioners of the administrative and military functions of the ottoman sultans after the ruler, in the ottoman period's classical period. All these factors have been taken into consideration, and the mentioned rebellion attempts of the ottoman princes have been left out of the scope of this study. the administrative and military functions of the princes within the ottoman state structure have been examined, and some of the opinions put forward about the institutional and administrative structure of the ottoman state have been questioned.
