Product description

“all my friends left me.

they look at me with hurt eyes.

return, my friends.

but no, you turn the face as if you never met.

i will tell you everything. These were the hands that pulled me-sono under the water. With my evil arrogance, i prayed for the death of sono, and i also prayed for my own salvation. Osamu dazai, one of the most important names in modern japanese literature, published 'mascara flowers' with autobiographical elements in 1935. The work, in which dazai's fourth wall is occasionally broken and he speaks to the reader in a one-to-one voice, is the first work the author took about yozo obi, the main character of 'when i lose my humanity'. Yozo oba, together with his lover sono, commits suicide by jumping into the sea in kamakura.

the lover dies, and the yozo is saved by fishermen, placed in a seaside sanatorium, and life begins again.

if you want to read a dazai novel written in the pace of a man who has one foot in the pit, with the desire to reach the solution of an unsolvable equation, his name is: maskara flowers.

“welcome to the sadness.

number 1.
