summary:The unforgettable work of nikolay chukovski, the uncommitted don't die, ii.

it presents the siege of leningrad in many aspects, one of the darkest pages of world war ii and one of the most dramatic resistances.

Under the blockade barbarously imposed by the nazis and lasting 900 days, sailors, pilots and the people of leningrad fighting for the city are exposed in all their nakedness, the struggle against hunger, cold and the enemy.

can a people, with collective consciousness, demonstrate that it is possible to refuse to surrender and survive, even when the situation seems hopeless? In the novel, those who defend the city's skies are losing comrades one by one, the resistance of the people who are struggling for life in the streets under the shelling, and the efforts to deliver aid to leningrad are intertwined. The love and devotion of the pilots for each other is manifested not only when they collide with the enemy in the sky, but also on the ground, when they are united in every trouble of their comrades.

this solidarity is also strongly lived in the city where the organizations of the party and the komsomol worked in full swing.

As he describes the sadness of young people dragged into war and of unfinished loves, chukovski manages to portray how resistance and solidarity are transformed into hope even in the most difficult circumstances, with a striking language.

a pilot who does his best to save a family he doesn't even know, a young man who goes to the homes of the elderly and does their work.

even in the most difficult circumstances, no one tries to save himself-the values that are in the forefront of the novel are humanity, love and solidarity.

this humanity, love and solidarity, which the soviet people never lost, shows that the fight against fascism was not won only on the front.
